While living in Portland, Oregon in 2009/10, I collaborated with a few others to create the FC Media project. As a team of four (writer, historian, photographer, and designer) we sought to capture the rich history of the Portland Timbers Football Club.
My role: Founding partner, creative direction, art direction, interaction design
Our historian and writer conducted dozens of oral histories, researched news and media archives, and collected and documented memorabilia. Writer, Michael Orr ultimately drafted the first book chronicling the history of 1975 Portland Timbers, the club's first professional team. I assisted, while also designing and building fcmediallc.com to serve articles written by Orr supported by social media and email.
The finale of the project was an exhibit on the history of the Timbers which showed the during summer of 2010 at the Oregon History Museum. Showcases of memorabilia stood among 12 exhibit panels which were hung throughout the space. The exhibit opened with a reception attended by many of the key 1975 Timbers personalities and garnered a visit by Major League Soccer Commissioner, Don Garber.
